Well, it wasn't exactly a friendly discussion in the first place. The tone of the original post was pretty petty and insulting, so I wouldn't have expected a rational debate.
Sometimes it's hard to tell, though. I just stepped into it yesterday with someone on sextips who was boasting about how her sex life is great even after 11 years with her partner and that she was only posting so she could feel smug, and when I called her on it she totally reversed positions on me, saying it was only a joke and what an ass I was. It's hard to tell on the internet when someone's making a joke or when they're really being an asshole. That post today, though, I'd have come down on the "asshole" side.
