Hmm.
Those people sound kind of stupid and over-zealous, to be honest.
The website was shutdown for technical and security reasons. There is no secret conspiracy to keep the blind man down, because blind people are not important enough to society for such a conspiracy to exist.
That is why they are called "disabled", and why disabled people are so sensitive to contempt or pity, because they know they are non-factors in the greater social paradigm.
These people need to relax and release some self-importance and find something better to do with their time instead of fixating on petty shit.
Just an IMO.

Personally, I'm done giving this administration the benefit of the doubt.

The reaction to the advocacy group is telling.

Hm.
What does the NLS in the library of congress have to do with our current administration?
For that matter, why would blind people be targeted by some insidious plot to... im sorry, accomplish what again?
Giving somebody or something the benefit of the doubt implies that there is something dubious in nature going on that you would under normal circumstances be suspicious of.
This is not suspicious at all, this is some kind of glitch in software that is probably quite complex (which is why we do not see it in greater circulation).
Beyond being complex, it is also likely quite EXPENSIVE.
What I mean to say by this is that the blind community is being given quite a boon to even have access to such technology, one that they should be grateful for, given that as is the blind community generally does not actually provide much for our society. Harsh? True.
So what we actually have here is a very small minority with little actual influence as a result of their small number and the condition that unites them into a community angry and petulant that their toy broke.
Has nothing to do with politics, it has to do with frustration at their condition.
It has reached a point in advocacy and politics that people leap onto anything, no matter how irrational and small, if they perceive it will inconvenience a government agency.
They make it into a big political thing.
That to me isnt democracy, that is useless and futile anger and resentment. It also serves to undermine any kind of peaceful resolution to problems that may arise.
As that fellow said, because of their protest, fixing the problem will take longer.
Think of it in terms of a little kid whining at his mom about his broken toy, tugging on her arm and yelling and screaming because it broke while she is trying to fix it. Pretty distracting.
All said, this shows me that people are starting to get arbitrarily partisan and divided into a "proleteriat vs the man" kind of mentality.
The bitch of it is that The Man watches us brush our teeth in the mirror every morning.
That can be spun either way as you choose. :p
