She points out that a study shows African-American women were less well off when married than when single - that actually is true of all women, too. Marriage is good for men's health, bad for women's.

My personal observation is that women are often less well off married because many women willingly make that sacrifice.

No, women are physically less well off when married - they don't live as long.

There isn't any, but the correlation is there in study after study.

i've read a soc. article on that, but the stats are tricky... men apparently die later if they are married to younger women. and women apparently die younger if they are married to older men. but i don't know, the math on it doesn't really gel. and there's no way to follow couples along the way.
