That, along with her "every abortion is a tragedy" speech, is yet another reason I am very disappointed with her and have no intention of voting for her, should she run for president.
Conservatives are never going to vote for Hillary, never, ever. She could slit her husband's throat on national TV and they would still hate her guts. It's all part of some expert campaign consultant's advice, no doubt, but many of the leftists i know are becoming more and more disenchanted with her.
The GOP's poll numbers are down, but so are the Democrats'. Now's the time for a third party. All they'd have to do is sit down and reason with the American public, Ross Perot proved that.
Good. I've never been one of them, so I'm glad to see her losing support.
Of course, that leaves the Dems without ANYONE to run in 2008. They really, REALLY need to get their act together if they have any hope of staying relevant in politics. I agree with sophiaserpentia above: it's time for a third party to make a serious play. If they run anyone even remotely electable there's a fair chance of success in the current environment. Not a Nader, who has no charisma to speak of, nor a Perot who scares as many people as he impresses, but someone has got to be out there that's worth running. Maybe a Green, maybe a Libertarian, who knows?
That's pretty unlikely. I would assume it would be the Libertarians. Which means we're all screwed for another four years. Personally, I'm hoping the Democrats can take back Congress in '06, so we can Impeach Bush and get something accomplished.
There's a lot of infighting in Republican quarters these days. I wouldn't be surprised if some Reform candidate (is that party still around?) came out to woo the fascists extremists.
damn. I didn't think about it like that. How about the Theocracy party? Pat Robertson would run, and we can get all the rabid social 'conservatives' out of established parties.
I don't know who the candidates coming up will be, but likely enough I will not vote for a Democrat at all, same as in the last two elections. They do not represent me. They used to, but they are all now so busy pandering to the far right tht they have lost touch with their party base.
