Send me something! You know you want to.

The Main is still accepting submissions for its initial issue. The deadline has been extended to October 1, with the issue due out in the winter. Poetry only, limit of 25 lines. All styles accepted.

If you don't want to submit to The Main, that's okay. I have Zen cards I can send back to you as a pen-pal thing. :) Or even some nice floral stationery.

Err? What's The Main? I think I missed something.

I'm starting up a literary quarterly. Though at this point I think it might have to be a biannual.

Is it okay to submit here rather than dong the old whole postage thing?

Pavlov's Dogs

People annoy me,
So fragile, so delicate,
Egos so easily bruised-
Push the button, watch them jerk;
Push the button, watch them, jerk;
Push the button, jerk!
As the galvanic twitch of prior conditioning destroys
Any chance of reasoned response-
Pavlov's dogs sometimes salivate,
Just thinking of the bell...

I'm one of those people who needs to see a poem on the page. I don't read literary websites because there's a difference in reading online and reading from a book or piece of paper. So I'm not accepting submissions here or at my email address.

My initial response to your poem, though, is that this line in particular

As the galvanic twitch of prior conditioning destroys

is too much like prose. Even free verse needs some semblance of rhythm to be considered verse.
