Congress does that every now and then - mostly for show, as far as I can tell. Nothing will happen, record profits will continue to roll in.

If Congress can do nothing, what can we do?

Well, it has to do with electing people and never holding them accountable so maybe not putting do-nothings back in office is a start. Both parties count on a lot of complacency to let them conduct their business as usual.

Ahh, so we need to get people who would not normally be interested in holding political office, to hold political office.

That and by holding our elected officials responsible by not putting them back in office, it will encourage them to actually do their jobs.

I'm not hopeful, however.

Don't wanna be in office? Makes you the perfect choice.

Sadly I'm not a millionaire, which along with good connections, is required. Maybe a Representative can get by with a six-figure budget but the Senate and on requires the big bux.
