About the gas thing, I'd heard and even wondered that myself, honestly. But I'd also wondered how it would have been done - I'd heard nothing about renewed talks with OPEC nations, or dipping into the nation's oil reserves or whatever the administration might have done.

But I think it speaks volumes that the reaction by a large portion of the country to a major economic windfall is to be suspicious of the government.

Condi may be unable to tell the truth - after watching her slip and slide around the Europeans all those months ago when they were trying to find out if the U.S. was torturing people in secret prisons in the EU(a lie she and the Administration have now been baldly caught in), I think she's pathological.
