Thank goodness!

I went to read some comments in a friend's journal, then when I hit the back button a window popped up on my machine telling me that a trojan horse had tried to install itself on my computer but that the antiviral software had stopped it. It said two notifications had gone out. I'd apparently gotten one of them... and I assume the IT dept. (in another city) got the other.

I was reading my friends list when suddenly LJ wasn't available anymore. Crap, I thought, the jig is up. I tried for about 40 minutes every once in a while; still nothing.

But now it's back! I don't know what I would do if I had to go through a whole work day without access to LJ. I thought it had become one of those company-restricted websites (like eBay).

I saw this Nightline. It was pretty interesting.

Battle of the Network Anchors

But after the commercial break, something unforeseeable happened on Nightline: an anchorman showdown! What began as a casual media-on-the-media puff piece turned into a fascinating five-minute referendum on old and new ways of looking at the meaning and purpose of television news. In a one-on-one chat on the deserted convention floor after the day's festivities had ended, Koppel, in his low-key, dignified, What-Me-Worry way, got medieval on [Jon] Stewart's ass.

(no subject)

This is wrong. Even to the point of outrageous.
