I would look more to things like a woman no longer being the center of attention or being special, major withdrawal of hormones, no longer sharing her body with the baby...which is a shift, lack of sleep, and esp with a first baby...shifts in her relationship with her partner for the post partum bit. (spelled wrong and I ain't looking it up right now)

though, I will acknowledge there MIGHT be some brain energy happening in relationship to children...what it is exactly has a lot more testing to do to learn.
