Instead of taking a nap, I cut my own hair for only the second time. As I told [livejournal.com profile] dionysus1999, I was in dire need. I kept putting it off, for no good reason.

My plans for today include evaluating for Third Wednesday, transcription, carmelizing a diced apple, and maybe even submitting more poems (which I haven't done since I took up that personal project).

As a total non sequitur, I had the pleasure to take in a couple of movies last week that were new to me. I saw The African Queen on TCM, then caught Bananas OnDemand. Later, another Hepburn film, On Golden Pond, was being shown on TCM (they're doing 31 Days of Oscar), but I missed the last 30-40 minutes of it (so I can't really count that as having been watched).

Last night, TBS showed A Beautiful Mind, a flick I hadn't seen since it was in theatres. It definitely deserved the four stars it received.

What did you think of Bananas? I am only mildly interested in most Woody films- some I dislike or find boring, and others are mildly amusing (like Manhattan Murder Mystery). The two of his films I like best are the silliest most slap-sticky ones, those being "Bananas" and "A Midsummer's Night Sex Comedy".

I liked Bananas a lot. I haven't seen the majority of Allen's oeuvre, but of what I have seen, I've really enjoyed. My dad's a big Woody Allen fan, and considering that he and I have very similar tastes in comedy I really can't be surprised.

You've seen Annie Hall, of course, yes? I have a special place in my heart for What's Up, Tiger Lily? as well.
